Alfriston Apparel

When I was given the opportunity to work with Alfriston School I was initially inspired by the schools history and their championing of inclusivity and diversity.
Alfriston School is a day and boarding school for girls between the ages of 11 and 18 catering for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.
The brief was to design a logo for Alfriston's annual ski trip with a three day deadline (including printing of the garments) and to include a school logo, date and variable data of pupils initials.
On researching sport apparel it was important to recognise the impact of gender representation in sports logos and the broader culture. I discovered an alarming disparity with designs relying heavily on masculine motifs, colours and slogans.
By incorporating famine logo elements into my design my aim was to help promote gender equality and inclusivity in sports. The overall design is bright and clear, making it easily recognisable and memorable.
